What this Conference is about

The 2000 Virginia Biological Farming Conference, Financial
Success for Small Farmers, offers a two day program with a variety
of breakout sessions. The program will emphasize producing locally
grown foods, maintaining viable rural communities, and utilizing a
deepened awareness of soil life to achieve a truly sustainable
agriculture in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
People will create their own schedule by choosing among
breakout sessions focusing on :
- Improving soil fertility through nurturing earthworms,
soil microorganisms and balancing nutrients,
- Finding the best marketing strategies for specialty farm
products,
- Sustainable livestock, crop and small fruit
production
- Conserving our soil and water resources
- Learning appropriate pest management techniques and
fostering beneficial insects
Emphasis will be placed on presentation of new and advanced
information with opportunities for group discussion and
interaction.
