VABF Announces Agriculture Photo Contest

1. Subject matter should be relevant to VABF and Virginia, i.e. horticulture, agriculture, farming, livestock, growing techniques, people and machinery engaged in agriculture pursuits, amusing or serious, scientific or artsy, concerned with growing crops, raising livestock, or marketing.
2. Format - Digital (jpg format) or Hard Copy of good quality (suitable for scanning into digital format.)
3. Include photographer’s name and address, identification of people in the photo (plus release agreement if the subject is an identifiable person), and location of the photo (at least by county, but could include city, farm name, etc.).
4. Photos to be judged by VABF board members or their substitutes. Criteria are common-sense benchmarks such as relevance to VABF’s focus on sustainable agriculture, as well as visual impact, creativity, and technical excellence.
5. Prizes will include a complimentary registration to the 2009 Virginia Biological Farming conference for the overall winner, and some $10 cash prizes.
6. Photographers agree to give VABF rights to use photos for VABF purposes including web display and/or use on promotional materials.
