Blue Ridge Forest Cooperative seeks PT Book-keeper
A “green” business (member-owned forest products cooperative) is currently looking for someone to work part-time (starting at 8 to 12 hrs weekly) to:
- do book keeping.
- answer the phone and e-mails; to field questions and inquiries.
- help organize the business and manage its administrative operations.
- learn about the business with an interest in taking on more responsibilities .
Expectations:
- A pleasant and friendly phone presence; excellent social skills with grace and poise
- Ability to self-manage effectively; must be trustworthy and self-motivated
- Good to excellent communication skills
- Good computer skills including:
- MS Office software
- QuickBooks Pro
- Web site management
Note: competence in the specific software is not critical, nor is owning the required software or hardware (however, it’s a plus). Willingness to learn new skills and the confidence to work through the process are what’s important. A demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems is important to meeting this expectation.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
